Kim and Clint Bracher knew pretty quickly that the Witte Museum was the perfect spot for them to begin their life together.
The couple had looked at wedding venues in San Antonio and Austin. A lot had a corporate feel, and they were looking for something different.
Kim Bracher ran across the Witte on a Google search and scheduled a tour with Roger Garcia, the museum’s director of sales and events. When Garcia showed them the Will Smith Amphitheater, they were smitten by the peaceful riverside site. But they also knew there was a chance they could have their hearts broken. They had been told there was just one weekend available before the end of 2021.
“I said, ‘I don’t want to get my hopes up on this because I’ve already fallen in love with this venue,’ ” said Bracher, 33, who sells software for an Austin company. “Please tell me you still have that date available.”
It was open.
The couple married there on Oct. 16, 2021, then had their reception on the nearby lawn.
“Honestly, it was perfect,” Bracher said. “I wouldn’t change anything about our wedding. Everyone should get married at the Witte.”
