Did you know that one of four cowboys who went on the trail was Black? Inspired by the special exhibition Black Cowboys: An American Story, be immersed into the stories told by men, women and children from the 19th century. Examine artifacts, art and photographs from the Witte Collection, learn about the skills and character traits needed to settle and develop Texas.
Watercolor Wonders • 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. & 2:30 p.m.
What happens when nature meets art? Inspired by the special exhibition Mary Virginia Carson: Pioneer Artist Capturing Rock Art with Watercolors, uncover the mysteries of Texas rock art and discover how she brought nature to life on canvas. Participants will unleash their creativity and paint their own nature-inspired masterpieces.
