Give your San Antonio Spring Break a stellar send-off with the Witte!
How do astronauts live in space? What would you bring to survive and thrive on the Moon? Become an engineer and design your Moon Base Camp during Stellar Saturday! Plus, step inside the Surviving Space: Astronauts & Asteroids exhibition and take one giant leap beyond anything you’ve ever seen.
Get interactive at the activity stations and enjoy demonstrations by our education and public programs team all afternoon.
ACTIVITY STATIONS:
- Design an Acequia: The Spanish Maestros used their knowledge of nature and science to create water systems across San Antonio in the 1700s. Try your hand at this engineering feat! Can you get water from the river to the Mission?
- Dig for Dino Bones: Grab your brush—it’s time to go on a dino dig! Experience the excitement of making an amazing find and discover what it’s like to be a paleontologist.
- Witte Wellness Board: Practice wellness at the Witte! Roll the dice and see what wellness activity is in store for you.
- Roll a Rock Art: Create art just like the People of the Pecos did over 4,000 years ago. Use the same available colors and designs to create your masterpiece.
- Build a Moon Base: NASA is sending people back to the Moon—to stay! Hone your engineering skills, choose which elements you need to survive and design your Moon Base Camp.
This event is free with General Museum Admission. Reserve your Museum Admission online here or purchase a Witte Membership and enjoy events like this all year!
