Fiesta Street Style
Fiesta fashion is so much more than couture dresses and trains. Everything from flower crowns, flamboyant hats, embroidered Puebla dresses, guayaberas, medals and sashes are seen during Fiesta. Fiesta Vogue invites you to discover where these colorful and creative looks originated and how they influence Fiesta street style today. Fiesta events such as NIOSA and Cornyation have influenced Fiesta street style for decades. Even our beloved San Antonio Spurs have gotten into the Fiesta colors throughout the years.
What is your Fiesta style? Be sure to strike a pose in the Fiesta Vogue: Outfit of the Day photo booth and tag it #FiestaOOTD and create your own coronation gown and train in an interactive, digital experience.
The Witte Museum’s traditional Fiesta medal is inspired by the dress and train worn by Mary Reed, Lady of April Showers in The Court of Mystic Seas, 1954. The train of pastel yellow satin featured jeweled raindrops with gold lace and a parasol and rainbow trimmed with rhinestones. The Witte will also carry a new Fiesta medal, featuring Tyrannosaurus Rex. Both medals can be purchased in the Bolner Family Museum Store.
Fiesta Vogue: Outfit of the Day will be open through July 31, 2022 and is included with general admission.
